About PSDS
PSDS is aimed at but not limited to, the Presbyterian Church of Aotearoa New Zealand which includes Cooperating and Union Parishes.
Individuals, parishes, family trusts, community groups and organisations deposit funds as an investment with the society and in return are paid competitive interest rates. Making careful commercial use of those funds allows us to fulfil our key role which is to provide loans at less than market rates to churches and Presbyterian linked organisations for building projects.
What started as loans mostly for church worship centres has now grown to include much more. Schools, preschools, community centres and retirement villages are some of the projects we help finance, to assist churches as they reach out to be of service to the community.
In addition, because of the generosity of our investors who sometimes leave gifts and bequests we are able to do more. By carefully managing our operating costs together with these gifts we are regularly able to give grants back to churches as well as providing financial support for important "grassroots" national initiatives like Kids Friendly.
